Culture and Historic Preservation Departmental Focus

Preserve, and perpetuate the cultural knowledge, language and traditions of Nay’dini’aa Na’ Kayax (Chickaloon Native Village) and their extended Ahtna Dene family by dedicating time and resources towards the protection and stewardship of the Tribe’s cultural expressions, including Indigenous cultural sites, through community driven collections care practices, cultural heritage tourism and an increase in knowledge and access to engage, and effectively assert Tribal sovereignty, in the consultation and regulatory processes with local, state, federal, Tribal and international governments.
