Culture & Historic Preservation Department

The Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) is dedicated to protecting, preserving, and continuing our ancestral Dene traditions and protocols. CVTC actively develops, evaluates, and governs culturally driven research. Negotiation with local, state, and federal agencies is integral to preventing further exploitation or destruction of cultural resources. Building and maintaining cultural resource inventories as well as conducting cultural resource surveys and excavations facilitates our preparedness for planning, responding, and mitigating construction and extraction activities (tree clearing and ground disturbance) within our area of influence. >Read More
