Fish Passage Program

ESD Webpage PDF 2024.074

In 2023, CVTC was funded through NOAA’s Habitat Restoration Center and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to create a Tribal Fish Passage Program.

This program has three major goals:

  • Provide outreach and trainings to Alaskan Tribes and Tribal entities in fish passage and stream restoration.
  • Establish an Alaska Tribal Fish Passage Working Group with quarterly meetings to discuss current and upcoming funding opportunities, various trainings, and any guidance needed for fish passage and stream restoration projects.
  • Remove and replace two culverts that impede fish passage in the Tribe’s traditional territory.
